I remember working at Harnetts, a wonderful health food store in Harvard Square, Cambridge in 2001.  I had been a customer there long before becoming an employee, spending hours at a time browsing the isles, carefully examining the bottles of supplements, natural body care products and jars filled with herbs.  I was often drawn to the back of the store where the large selection of flower essences was kept.  I was fascinated by their mysterious healing powers and so began reading about them and experimented with them on myself, willing friends and feline.  Shortly thereafter, I was moved to attend a flower essence conference in Rowe, Massachusetts which opened my eyes to the history of flower essences, their broad applications, current use in our country and throughout the world, the many different essence brands and local essence makers and the number and kinds of practitioners using flower essences in their practices.

I gained more knowledge about herbs, essences and plant energetics through my magically experiential 8-month herbal apprenticeship with Rosemary Gladstar in Vermont.  My months at the Himalayan Institute in Pennsylvania the following year enhanced my knowledge of meditation and deepened my practice, gave me first hand experience with Ayurvedic medicine and Indian cooking and taught me the difficult skill of living with discipline and gratitude in the world. Upon my return from Pennsylvania, working with gifted naturopaths Julie Wiener and Peter Swanz demonstrated how the practical and therapeutic usage of vitamins, botanical medicine, homeopathy, nutrition and lifestyle counseling could bring people great relief and balance in their lives.  But throughout my travels and my learning I still felt pulled in the direction of further study of flower essences and finally gave in . . .

My flower essence practitioner training, set in the woods in upstate New York with David Dalton (Delta Gardens) and Kate Gilday (Woodland Essence), brought everything together for me and gave me the tools and confidence I needed to begin helping people with essences.

I have attended several workshops since then including:
  • Treating Sexual Abuse with Flower Essences
  • Treating Guilt, Fear & Anxiety with Flower Essences
  • Advanced Teasel workshops (for treating Lyme disease)
  • Multiple Flower Essence Conferences in Rowe, Massachusetts
  • Treating Women & Children with Australian Bush Flower Essences
  • Levels I, II, III (in Australia) training for Australian Bush Flower Essences
  • White Light Essences, Australian Bush Flower Essences
  • Teacher Training for Australian Bush Flower Essence's U.S. course (16, 24, 32 hours)

I have been under flower essence treatment consistently for the past several years and have found my own healing and transformation with the essences to be an invaluable resource while treating clients.

I'm also a Reiki Level II practitioner and offer Reiki healing as a separate service or combined with flower essence treatment.

My love, fascination and passion for these magical essences continues to deepen and I'm excited to be able to share them with my community.

They (flower essences) are able, like beautiful music, or any gloriously uplifting thing which gives us inspiration,
to raise our very natures, and bring us nearer to our Souls:
and by that very act, to bring us peace, and relieve our sufferings.
~Edward Bach, Ye Suffer From Yourselves (1931)
